Hide AdA spokesperson for the library said: "Like many Northamptonshire communities, Middleton Cheney has been fighting for the survival, and growth, of its library for several years. The Library Supporters’ Group has mounted talks, films – even Crazy Golf through the library – in order to encourage use and provide additional facilities.
"For over a year the library has been staffed by local volunteers and this has now been confirmed for the next five years though a formal agreement with Northamptonshire County Council, which will still provide access to all of its services when a ‘new normal’ is achieved."
The new status started on August 1st. The hours will continue on Fridays in August with the hope that services can be extended thereafter.
